AMERICAN HOUSEWIVES’ PLAN. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Received May 1, 1.40 p.m.) NEW YORK, April 30. Housewives throughout the country are organising a. boycott for flhe purpose of lowering the price of sugar, which is now being retailed from ten to twelve cents a pound. Various women’s clubs and organisations in New York, Washington. Chicago, Buffalo*, and other principal cities are conducting a series of mass meetings and house-to-house canvass in an effort to persuade housekeepers to refrain from buying until sugar is cheaper.
