LOAN POLLS.
(Pkk Press Association.) AUCKLAND, April 26. A poll was t:.Uen in the city to-day on a proposal to raise £190,000 foxstreets, £70.000 for tramways, £20,000 for the Zoo, and £16.000 for libraries. Progress returns indicate that- they may be carried. WANGANUI, April 26. A waterworks loan proposal of £IOO.OOO was carried by a majority of twenty-six. A tepid baths loan proposal of £17.000 was lost by 406 votes.
