MAYOR AND MAGISTRATE.
TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —There are quite a lot of people who will heartily concur with your protest referring to the apparent want of courtesy shown to the Mayor. Whether i: is that the accumulation of cases that come before a magistrate tend to maxe him nervy one cannot sav, but certain it is that there is an inclination to become garrulous. As a public man I)r Thacker is not foolish enough to believe that he can escape criticism, but when he sets out to secure an observance of the city's by-laws he ought to receive praise rather than the con stant pin prickings in whic h some of his detractors seem to delight.— J am, etc..
