EFFERVESCENT BATH POWDER.
Effervescent bath powder can b# easily and inexpensive]* made in the folowing manner:— Mix together ten parts of tartaric acid, nine parts of carbonate of soda and six parts of rice flour. A few spoonfuls of this powder stirred into the hath will at once cause a oopioue liberation of carbon dioxide which im most refreshing. IN TABLET FORM. It is much more convenient to have tin* powder in tablet form. The tablet* are iormed by making the powder sufficiently damp with methylated spirits to mould it into shape- A convenient size for the tablets would be about that of a half-crown. If desired, a little perfume, such a* oil of lavender, may be sprinkled over the powder before making up the tablets. Three or four of the tablets should be added to the bath to get the effervescent effect. The tablets should be kept in a closed tin, otherwise they will rapidly deteriorate.
