In© train front Rangiora at present arrives at Christchurch, just as the express is departing. Mr M’V illy agreed to make the alteration. by changing the time of departure of the express from 8.45 t-o 8.50 and by stopping th e West Ccast train at. Addington to pick up northern passengers. The alteration, which will take effect from Mav 1. will be much appreciated by tfc e northern public who hitherto have been compelled to travel by road to Christchurch to catch the trains. On leaving Rangiora Mr M’ViJly and party went on to Sheffield and reached Chrwtchurch by way of Oxford in order to inspect the Kaiapoi line.
