REPAIRS TO OPUA.

CLAIM AGAINST ANDERSON'S. The hearing of a. claim for £266 4* by the Opua Shipping Company against Anderson*, Ltd., was continued in the Supreme Court to day before hie Honor Mr Justice Adame and a special jury of four. Mr W. R. Laocelles appeared for plaintiffs, and Mr F. S. Wilding for defendants. On the conclusion of the case fot plaintiffs, Mr Wilding submitted ques tions of law for consideration by hi? Honor. Hie Honor decided that there was sufficient evidence for the_case to go to the jury. Robert. W. Raff, engineer, employed by the Public Works Department Whangarei, called by Mr Wilding, said that he had been engaged on the worktaking his instructions from the second engineer, Mr Meikle. Witness wap in structed to place a. sack to block the air pump. Witness and another employee had counted all the holts and nuts and checked them with the number of holes in the baffle-plate, an 1 none of them could have got into ths air pump and have caused the accident that necssitated the repairs and brought about the delay complained of. Victor D. Duff, third engineer on the Breoae, who was engaged on the job as an apprentice, said that the bolts and unte from the baffle-plates were, collected together, and could not have got into the air pump.
