Speaking at a luncheon of the British Sugar Beet Growers' Society, Sir Francis Floud, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture, said that there was every reason to suppo.se that the present Government would continue the remission of excise duty on home-grown sugar, which is one of the bright spots in agriculture. .Mr G. H. Roberts. Liberal member for Norwich, said that this year two factories at Kelham and Can tie v hare contracted for 15.000 acres, giving employment to 1500 labourers. He hoped that in the near future there would be twenty other factories in operation.
