I J wireless message recently receivj o-l irom Ocean Island reported the disI appearance of a boating party c-om-I prising two members of the British j Phosphate Commission and a native. I \he New Zealand Oommisisoner (Mr ! Ellis) said to-day that the missing j Europeans were the medical officer. Dr j Ridge Mills, and Mr Greenway, both j Australians. As bad weather came up [ shortly after they left the island on Good Friday, it is surmised the boat cither was swamped or was swept away b. : a strong current. In the latter J case the boat might reach the Gilbert I Group, about 250 miles to Hie east ward. The Waihora. spent some time searching fruitlessly.
