UNREST IN CANADA.

SERIOUS STRIKE FEARED. By Telegraph—Pre*s Association—Copyright Australian cad N.Z. Cable Association. OTTAWA, April S. A telegram from Si John, New Brunswick, says that one of the most serious strikes in Canada seems to be imminent. The trouble is due to the demands of the 20,000 employees of the British Steel Corporation for a 30 per cent increase in wages, the employment exclusively of uniom members, and the continuation of the system whereby tne company deducts union dues from the wages of employees and sends them directly to the union. The company offers a 12 per cent inc**sa.se, but refuse’ to accede to the other two demands. These employees belong to the International Mine Workers and Steel Workers* Unions, whose- heads are Americans, and who refuse to countenance the strike. The recalcitrants, however, have thrown off their alliance with the International Unions and have affiliate .1 with the Moscow Internationals.
