A number of documents captured fiom rebels disclose an exchange of views between rebel leaders in regard to the possibility of maintaining the struggle. The consensus of opinion is, that it is utterly impossible to carry on another summer campaign owing to the wastage by easnulties and arrests. The letters show that the officers commanding the Cork No. 3 District, and Kerry No. 1 declared that they would soon not have a man left. Most of the leaders however, have • leoidod by a narrow majority, to struggle on though there is no hope The documents pointed out that the n-cr. were giving way. They were enduring severe hardships
