STEAMER OVERDUE.
DISASTER FEARED. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Received April 6, 10.10 a.m.) THURSDAY ISLAND. April 6. The Government steamer Douglas Mawson is five days overdue from Burketov. n. It is feared that disaster lias overtaken the vessel, which is only 300 tons. It is thought that the steamer encountered the cyclone at the end of March, the force of which no vessel of her class could withstand. The Navigation Department has sent the Karumba to search.
