- C. G. WHITAKER. Mr C. Godfrey Whitaker, whose death occurred at. liis residence, Edinburgh. Street, Riccarton, had become well-known among machinery people and engineering firms, not only lor Ins pleasing personality, but also on account of liis undoubted ability in mod- 1 orn engineering practice. Born in Solihull, Warwickshire, England, m 1865, lie was taken to America when 1 a hoy. with his parents, and resided there until 1905, when, for health reasons, lie came to New Zealand. He was engaged as works manager by Booth. Macdonald and Co.. Ltd., almost immediately after his arrival, and held that position up to the tiling of bis in machine shop practice. His widow is a well known worker in the Christchurch Division of the St John Ambulance Society, and in many other loc-i« welfare institutions. MR JAMES FROST.
