LADIES’ CHAMPIONSHIP. MISS WRIGHT, WINNER. The second round for the ladies’ golf championship of Canterbury was played at the Shirley links this morning in conjunction with a medal handicap. The weather conditions were ideal and some excellent rounds were made. Miss N. Wright, of Timaru, won thft championship and Mrs Cook was runner*
up. Miss Wright played better to-day than she did in the first round, coming in with a card of 84.. Miss Wright did not play well going out, taking 46. Returning home sh® struck form and took only 38. Mrs Cook played evenly both ways, going out in 4 4 and coming home in 42. The com. petition among the other players was very keen and there was little difference be r tween a number of thp cards sent life The following is the result: —
