Mr and Mrs Guthrie-Sraith, of Hawke’s Bey. are spending a few days in Christchurch. Mrs Marnvaduke Bethel I, “ Fahau Paature*,” is on a visit to the Wairar&pa and Wanganui. Mr and Mrs W. Hart and Mrs Wilson left by motor, via Knikoura, on their return to Wellington. Mr and Mrs Geoffrey Kingscote have returned to town after spending Easter with Mr and Mrs Louis Campbell, Happy Valley. Misses A. M. F. Candy, E. and W. Partridge, M. Sowden. E. Ryburn, T. Macintosh and D. Oldridge have returned from Dunedin, where they were taking part in the University tournaments. A very enjoyable kitchen evening was held for Miss Dolly Beattie in Mr Joseph Bailey’s barn. Templeton, in honour of her approaching marriage. Music and refreshments brought to a close a veryinteresting session. The Christchurch delegation to the A:.A\ r .C.A. Girls’ Work Dominion Conference returned on Wednesday morning from AVellington. Miss Ruth Jervis, who was in charge of the Christchurch section, reports a most successful conference, and delegates have brought back a revised scheme of club work to be presented to the club member* of the association. Miss Marjorie Black, who was leader of the conference, returned to Christchurch with the delegates, and will initiate the suggested new method. For this purpose arrangements hare been made for Alias Black to spend the coming weekend at the Kaiapoi Hostel with twenty or thirty of the club leaders. STOOPING BOWLERS.
