Commissioner Booth-Tucker, of the Salvation Army, who arrived in New Zealand by the Corinthic on Tuesday, was a passenger from Wellington this morning and went on to Dunedin by the first express. He will return to Christchurch on Saturday. In view of Mr A. C. MacLaren’s remarks that some of the members of the combined team which rner the Knglishmen at Nelson did not- know the b : ade of the hat from the handle, one ! of the Nelsonians at Motueka- the other I day took no chances, and he appeared at the park with a tag on his bat plainly j indicating the difference. Fortified with this knowledge (says the ” Mail ”). the f player batted to such good effect that J he obtained top score in the match ! For the purposes of publicity, the coat-of-arms embossed on the back of envelopes used by Government departments “On Hi-s Majesty’s Service” has been replaced by a. new design. On the front of the envelope, inside a- one and a half inch circle, there is a map of the North arid South Islands with the names ol the four cities prominently marked. A scroll two and a half inches long overlaps the circle and , contains in large lettering the word's ” Dominion of New Zealand.”
