The Mayor (Dr H. T. J. Thacker) has received a letter from the City Council staff challenging members of the Council to a game of cricket on March 20. the 51 ayor’s birthday. •Signor Antonio Xotariellu, the wellknown Italian singer arrived from the North this morning and is. staying at the United Service Hotel. He intends to reside in Christchurch.
