The Minister of Internal Affairs inforined a representative of the “ Lyttelton Times ” that the heads of the Forestry Service, Lands. 'L'-ui culture and Internal Affairs Departments recently conferred on the subhxt of th,* depredations male bv deer and came to certain conclusion*, which will he submitted to a conference of representatives of acclimatisation societies he proposes to call, probably he tore the end of this month. He realises the importance of preventing further destruction by deer, and expect* that- as a result of the coming conference effective step*; will be evolved to put a stop to their depredations.
