TRADE IN PALESTINE.
INFLUX OF GERMAN GOODS By Telegraph—Press Association —Oopyr iSfht Reuter’s Telegrams. (Received December 30, 8.40 a.m.) LONDON, December 29. A report dealing with the civil ad ministration of Palestine between July 1, 1920, and December 31, 1921, shows that 7000 immigrants entered the country under the Jewish National Home Policy, but owing to the dearth of immigration during the war it is doubtful whether the Jewish population is now greater than in 1914. A feature of the period has been the great increase in imports from Germany and Austria, not merely due to depreciated currencies and low exchanges, but + o the determined efforts of German merchant* to get a footing in Palestine. Their methods extended to catalogues and price lists in the vernacular. This has considerably impressed the Palestine importers.
