Butter is steady despite the heavy arrivals. There has been an excellent demand, which is likely to be resumed after the holidays as the retail price is Is 8d a pound and is stimulating: consumption. Quotations are:—New Zealand: Choicest! 180 s to 184 s. unsalted 184 s to 186 s. Australian: Salted 174 sto 1765, unsalted 174 s to 1788. CHEESE. There is a fair demand and a strong tone, as supplies for some weeks will be Bmall. Quotations are: —Now Zealand, 122 s to 1245. Mr Wright, of the New Zealand Agricultural Department, visited Manchester to superintend the packing of 1000 boxes of butter in cartons. PROPERTY AUCTION SALE REPORT. CRADDOCKS AGENCY COMPANY, LIMITED. Tlie final auction sale of properties for the year 1922 was conducted by the above Company this week and was attended by signal success. The results were as follows Lot 1, 37 acres odd. together with the dwelling house and other buildings thereon, situate Charles worth Street, Woolston, was sold to Mr Fordham for £990. Lot 2. 9 acres odd, together with the dwelling house and other buildings thereon, situate Ferry Road. Woolaton, was sold to Mr Dean for £99. Lot 8, Section and small cottage, situate Torrens Road, Riccarton, was sold to Mr Duncan for £lls. Lot 4, Sections 4 and 5, Opawa Road, together with the dwelling house thereon, were sold for £430. Lot 5. situate at the corner of Opawa Road and York .Street. Opawa, was sold for £l7O. Lot 6. the late Mr Thomas York’s homestead block, situate at the corner of Ferry Road and Navagation Street, was competed for up to £1825, at which figure it was passed to the highest bidder. Lot 7, the late Mr Thomas York's orchard block, directly opposite the homestead block, comprising 1 acre, with 4 chains frontage, elicited bidding up to £BOO.

There* were large attendances at the sales and bidding was very brisk for the majority of the lots. The Company's next property sale will be held on January 10 next. 399
