The 'second annual picnic of the United Friendly Societies will br? held at. Rangiora on Boxing Day. Two large trains will leave the Christchurch station. one at 9.15 and the other at 9.45 a.m.. the first train stopping at all stations, the second non-stop. A valuable prize list has been arranged for adults, and good prizes are attached to the children’s races. Toys will be given to all children under five years of age. A mysterious person competition has been arranged, commencing at 1 p.m., for an extremely handsome prize. A very large committee has been working assiduously for a oonsidrnble time, and no doubt the second annual picnic will surpass the first.
