GERMAN WAR DEBTS.
MORGAN’S LOAN REFUSAL. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright Australian and N.Z Cable Association. NEW YORK. December 19. Mr La moot, the partner of Mr Fierpont Morgan, supplementing the latter's statement, said: “ The reason the Morgan Company refused to attempt. to float a large German loan in the United States is not because the company is unwilling, but because they know American people would not buy German bonds to enable that country to pay off the reparations with American money. American people ru ght. after the reparation questions arc settled and a deflation of currency is accomplished, consider the purchase of German bonds for a small loan sufficient to help Germany over the bill." Mr Lamoni stressed the fact that American investors are confident about France, and expressed the opinion that thev would gladly lend her money on a large scale. !
