THE EXHIBITION.
The steady patronage which is being accorded the ExhibitioVi is a reflex of the public interest in the project. This morning there was a good proportion of country visitors. As the big showroom of New Zealand's . imlustries the Exhibition is being fully availed of as an educative factor and the lesson of the Exhibition i> brought before school children in their visits arranged by the Exhibition authorities. This morning’s contingent represented Akaroa, Hal swell, Duvanchclle. Little ILver. Rangiora Convent, Waikuri. Leitldield. Waipara, Balcairn and Omilii. The entertainment at to-night’s session will include medleys by the A.AY.C.A. Operatic: Club. A vote of thanks to tlie Exhibition authorities for their courtesy in extending an invitation to the school children o' the Canterbury district to attend the Exhibition was carried by the Education Board Lo-day. A vote of thanks was also accorded the teachers and s< hool committees for their aid in arranging the visits. 'Flic visit ol the school children of the Chatham I- lands to the Exhibition was brought up at to-day’s meeting of tlie Education Board by a letter from the School Committees Association. Air C. S. Thompson said that the board, as n the controlling body of education, should make a grant towards the fund for covering the expense of bringing the children over. On his motion the board unanimously agreed to make a grant of £5 5s to the fund.
