LYTTELTON REGATTA.
What. promises to be. the finest acquatic carnival sensational parachute descent ever held in New Zealand will take place at Lyttelton on Boxing Pay. Record entries have been received for the rowing events. Amongst the clubs represented are Akaroa, Union, Cure, Avon. Canterbury and Wellington..therefore .spectators are bound to be treated to some excellent contests. Hydroplane racing i-another section do** which record entries have been received, whilst yachting and children’s events on land and water have not been overlooked. Fun and laughter for young and old will be 1 well provided for. in the greasy pig chase, the greasy pole and pillow fighting. Perhaps the event in which most interest will bo taken in the exhibition of parachuting which the committee lias arranged to be provided by Captain Euan Dickson and Mr Albert E. Eastwood. During this occasion a triple parachute descent from an aeroplane will be performed- Tt will be remembered that last February Mr Eastwood made a sensational double parachute descent from an aeroplane at Addington when. owing t.o a mishap he was severely injured. Mr Eastwood emphatically states that neither he nor any other person in the world has ever performed this triple parachute descent from an aeroplane. Canfcain Dickson, who has been associated v/ith Mr Eastwood in all his aeroplaning *’ stunts ” gained great distinction in the late war and lias obtained practically every honour awarded to a birdman. The parachutes to bo used by Mr Eastwood, a red. a white, aud a blue, will be on exhibition at Messrs Pricstnall’s and Jerman's on Friday morning. Further particulars will he announced in due
