MAGISTRATE’S COURT. At the Magistrate’s C&urt on Monday, Anselm Bailey (not Arthur Dawson as previously reported) was ordered to pay £(> 10s Arrears of maintenance forthwith or go to prison for seven days. STREET SALE \ esterday the ladies responsible for getting up the refreshments stall at the Anglican Church Bazaar to take place in April, in aid of the Parish Hall building fund, hold - street, sale at Johnston’s Corner to raise money to provision the stall. A varied collection of articles, mainly house and garden product®, including flowers, was on sale, and in spite of the heavy rain a fair amount of business was done. SCHOOL ENTERTAINMENT. One of the most successful and pleasing entertainments in connection with the Borough School held for a long time past > took place on Monday evening at the Institute Hall. There was n crowded attendance, many persons being unable to obtain admission. The programme was given entirely by the school children, who were trained by Mi'S L. Rogers. It consisted of a play m three acts Fairy Queen’s Court,” • In the Woods,” and ” Prince Sunshine's Court,’* and the cast of characters was: Act I.—Fairv Queen. Joyce Forward : Brown Bunny, Tahu Shankland; Frog. Bob Parsons: Red Robin, Dorothy Ayers: Daisy. Winifred Gibson ; Mother Nature. Rita. Hanna; Fairies and Elves. Act 2 Red Riding Hood, -Marjorie M'Tntosh ; Marjorie Sunbeam, Betty Scott ; White Rabbit Queen. Joan Harper; Brown Rabbit King. Jim Hutchison : Elf and King, Kelvin Taylor : Rooster. Jack Turner ; Bonny Bee, Maud Crichton : Butterflies. Gnomes Brownies, and Bunnies. Act 3—Prince Sunshine. Nova Taylor, and Princess Marguerite, Winnie Gibson. Without exception the children performed their parts excellently, reflecting credit on both Miss Rogers and themselves. The . play was beautifully staged, 'with coloured electric light « fleets arranged by Messrs W icks and Cambridge. The proceeds were in aid of the school funds and at the close Dir H. A. Archdnll. chairman of coni mi tthanked Miss Rogers and the children for their performance and the audience for their patronage.
