PETITION TO KING.
MARCH OF UNEMPLOYED. DEMONSTRATORS unsuccessful. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Received December 19, 10.10 a.m.) LONDON, December 18. Following a demonstration in Trafalgar Square by unemployed marchers from the provinces, a deputation at tempted to present a petition to the King at Buckingham Palace. When members of the deputation arrived, they were informed that the King could not see them, and they were advised to present their petition through the Home Office. Many men, trying to march with the demonstrators were stopped at th? entrance to the Mali. The petition requested the King io use his prerogative, and to immediately reassemble Parliament with a view to the passage of effective legislation to alleviate the present- suffering and destitution.
