TENNIS REFORM.
AN ENGLISH MOVEMENT LONDON. December 7. The annual meeting of the Ten nil Association on December 18 will bo very important. The “ Reformers” arc nominating candidates for all seats on the council. TheHr policy is to introduce the game into public schools, to improve the standard of play in the public parks, and •<> ii-o every means to produce players capable of winning the Davis Cup and world championships. While the sunporters of the old council admit that, it committed mistakesfor example, in giving Spain a walkover in the Davis Cup—they do not hesitate to cescribe the Reformers as pot- hunters, many of whom “ belong to the Win, Tie or Wrangle Club.” Who would rather that Waterloo had been lost than that an Australian should win the championship.
