STRENGTH OF THE POWERS. By Telegraph— Preea Association—Copyrlgn* Router’* Telegram*. (Received December 1. 11.35 a.m.) LONDON, November 30. In the House of Coramous, when asked to state the present strength of Britain, the United States, and Japan in capital ships. Commander EyresMonsell, Under-Secretary to the Adir.iralty, replied that there were twenty-three, twenty-six and fifteen vessels respectively of which one. eight and five respectively were due to be scrapped. Tbe United States had fifteen capital ships in course cf completion. of which, under the agreement. only two could bo completed as battleships. and two allocated as aircraft can* i eats. Japan bad four capital ehipe in course of construction, two of which could be completed, and two allocated as aircraft carriers. It is understood that no further pi ogress is being made with ships being built, in the United States and Japan which were liable to be scrapped.
