AMERICAN FEDERATION OF LABOUR.
The American Federation of Labour representing 4 AOO 000 workers, express in its recent convention held at Denver In the text of the Official Resolution regarding Prohibition, it was points out that great dissatisfaction is manifest throughout the f -S.A. at the Pro 1 hibition Law; that many people were of the impression that the law would not exclude the nation’s national beverage, beer; that tho law had brought _ about wholesale manufacture of illicit liquor, which resulted ill the deaths of hundreds of citizens, and the impairing of the sight of thousands of others : that these conditons had made the law vast 1 5 - unpopular wth the majority of citi This -r ! ’a ■ representative body therefore declared itself in favour of a modification of the law so as to permit thf manufacture and sale of light wines and beer. It also resolved to do everything in its power to have these modification' carried into effect. Pan- official Labour condemns Prohibition : so do reasonable folk of all classe-s.
