A serious affray occurred last evening in the Kaalplaats diamond digging near Johannesburg, as the result of a fight between a European digger and a native. The police attempted to arrest the native, when several hundred natives attacked the police. The white diggers fired volleys over their heads, but- this failed to have any effect. Eventually there was a serious collision in which two natives were billed.
