the fold and up the crown as far as fbo hat requires to bo taken in. AYhen this lias been done, out- carefully with scissors along the chalk line, ami bring the two raw edges together. Those should be sown with a line sdlk thread in preference, to ouo of cotton or substitute, as the stitching will then ho almost invisible. Lastly, put a new ribbon round the crown, tie a ‘■mart, flat bow, and sow the bow up down—not across--lho back, thus allowing the ends to hide i.be seam v.heie ihe bat has been cut away.
