Mr James Coradine, a former Mayor of Magterton, who has been on a visit to the West Coast, is at present in Christchurch. The Hon K. P. Lee. Minister of Justice, will leave Oomaru for Christchurch by the express to-day. He will stay at the United Service Hotel. At the monthly meeting of the Land Board yesterday reference was made t.» the unopposed return of Mr David Stowell, of Timaru. as Crown tenants’ representative on the board. The chairman of the board (Mr G. H. Bullard), in welcoming Mr Stowell, referred to bis valued services in the matter of land nettlement in Canterbury. and the further vote of confidence reposed in him as representative of the Crown tenants. The other members endorsed the chairman’s remarks, referring to Mi Stowell as being much in the nature of a branch of the Lands Department at Timaru. his headquarters.
