CA XTETv BUT? T A SSOCTA TTON. The Canterbury Lawn Tennis Association met last night. \V. N. Seay presiding over a good attendance. The Akaroa Domain. Spreydon. St Marvs. I Tinwaid, Lees ton, Springfield and North | Beach clubs were granted affiliation. The Hawke’s Bay association wrote star ins that an informal conference of delegates would he held at Hastings during tlie Now Zealand , championships. Messrs P. <;. Greenwood. S. 11. Denton and W. Goss were appointed tlie association's representatives at the conference. It was decided that the society should register under the Incorporated Societies Act, and the Match Committee, with Messrs E. J. Tayler and W. Goss, were appointed a. committee to revise the rules of the association and report at the next meeting. The chairman stated that the New Zealand association had granted the association permission to hold a tournament dur in°- the Christmas holidays. The Kaikoura club was also granted per mission to hold a tournament at the same time. The chairman reported that, there were no new developments in regard to the visit of the New South Wales ladies' team A proposal that a team of four North Island ladies and eight South Island ladieshould play the visitors in Christchurch had been made. The match would extend over two days. At the moment, however, the whole matter was “ in the air.” A report of the annual meeting of the New Zealand association was received. The report, showed that there had been a discussion on the matter of making an allowance to New Zealand players on tour.
