There was strong competition all round the \mencan demand being specially strong. A record price for the sea,son of 344ri npr pound was established. 6 pe HOTEL PROPERTY SOLD. A price equivalent to £595 a foot for a frontage to Colombo Street wa- paid in the purchase of the Masonic Hotel, situated at the corner of Colombo and Gloucester Streets, which changed hands this week for the sum of £25,000. The frontage to Colombo Street is 42ft and to Gloucester Street lloft. The property was submitted to auction under instructions from the Public Trustee, as administrator in the estate of Edward Hiorns, deceased. ANOTHER HIGH PRICE. Premises in Colombo Street occupied by G. T. White and Co., jewellers, and Isitt arid Co., booksellers, have changed hands at £3BO per foot, for a total frontage of 42ift. Mr W. Bowles, of London town, was the purchaser, the vendors being the trustees of the estate of David Lewis.
