Poincare declining to represent France at the Lausanne Conference on the ground that it is necessary that everyone should have implicit faith in. the impartiality of the negotiations, and the attacks of the British Press made on him have shown that the British public have refused to understand his role and his ideas. M. Poincare lias replied, thanking M. Franklin-Bouillon for tho work of peace which he recently accomplished in the Near lilast.
