BENNETTS BENEDICTS’ BALL.
The Carleton and Bennetts benedicts hall took placo at the Carleton Hall or Friday evening, and excelled all similar functions of former years, tbert being about seventy couples present including visitors from Christchurc.fi, Rangiora and Oxford. The commit
tee responsible for the arrangements were Mesdames Skurr, Whitehead, Glue, Pachnatz, Reid, Bloxham, Grinwood, and Messrs Skurr, Glue. Reid, Bloxham, Pachnatz and Grin wood. Messrs Whitehead (secretary), Skurr and Pachnatz were the M.C.’s. The benedicts’ colours, gold afcd heliotrope held pride of placo in the effective scheme of decorations. Continuous music was supplied by Hunnibell’-* Band, extras being played by Misses Horn, Baxter and Davis and Mesdames Ivory and Skurr. A splendid supper was serVed in the schoolroom. the tables having masses of spring flowers, the bright lines of which struck an appropriate colour note. Among those present were :—Air and Airs W.
