The Amalgamated Society of Engineers by 3516 votes to 635, decided jn favour of using extreme measures to preserve the forty-four hour week. Jr- is feared that a big strike throughout the Commonwealth will develop if the employers secure an extension of the working week to forty-eiglit hours.
