SOCIAL EVENING.

The annual social of Messrs Bradley Bros.. Ltd., was hold in the Ridgley Hall last Friday, when a very enjoyable evening was spent. A committee, consisting of Misses It . Bascand, i. Bradlev and H- Gatehouse, and Messrs Oppenhei'm, Cobley, W. Merton, Copplestone, Lee and Townsley. was responsible for the arrangements. Mr j H Bradley capably filled the position | of M.C. The ball was nicely decorated , with greenery ar.d spring flowers. | Streamers festooned from the ceiling j effectively interspersed with coloured j lights made a very pretty effect. +o | which the -Taz,7, lantern operated by Mr K Bradley added considerably. lueie j were several competitions, and songs . were contributed by Misses T. and B. Thompson L- Coblev, and Messrs Lai - nev and GiUispie (song and banjo solo) and were much appreciated. sitter supper a presentation was made to Miss 11. Bascand, who is severing l,ei connection with the firm. In making the presentation on behalf of the firm. Mr H. Bradley made reference to air esteem in which Miss Bascand was held by all who knew her, both in business and private life, concluding by handing her a beautiful set of fish knives arid forks os a recognition of her ser vices. Dancing was kept up to an early hour to music supplied by the New- Brighton Orchestra. Carpenter, rose pink crepe de chine; Doreen Bradley. eau de nil satin with pink roses; M. Scott, henna satin; Eileen Mitchell, royal blue and black taffetas; Elsie Godfrey, henna satin and silver girdle ; Nellie Abraham, pink souple satin: B.
