DETACHMENT TAKES kenmore. MANY FREE STATE DEFENDERS KILLED. By Telegraph— Press Association—Copyright Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. LONDON. September 13. A detachment of armed rebels attacked Kenmore and captured the town after a prolonged and fierce battle. They killed many of the Free State defenders. taking a hundred prisoners These they later marched into the mountains and set free. A force of Free State troops is now marching afc the double t-o recapture the town. BRITISH TROOPS IN ULSTER. TWO BATTALIONS WITHDRAWN. LONDON, September 13. Iwo more battalions of British troops 1-ave been withdrawn from Ulster, and others afro to follow. GOVERNMENT ACTIONS JUSTIFIED. THE PRESIDENT’S VIEWS. LONDON, September 13. Dunne a debate in the Bail Eireann Mr W. T. Cosgrave. justifying tile actions of the Government, concluded : ‘ If I were to meet the Supreme Judge five minutes hence I would go hoping that every action of my life was as well justified.”
