BUTCHERS IN CONFERENCE
(Per Press Association.; DUNEDIN, September 14. At a conference of the New Zealand Federated Butchers’ Association of Workers held here yesterday and to day, the following resolutions were adopted : That the union endeavour to secure legislation to compel wooden floors to be put on top of concrete floors in those shops where concrete floors are laid down. That the federation take into consideration the securing by legislation of a compulsory half-holiday from 12 noon. -That the federation should immediately get into communication with other federated and unfedorated shop assistants with n view to forming one federation of shop assistants for the DoThat the federation should consider the question of the publication of a butchers* journal, either quarterly, halfyearly or as the conference ‘hall decide.
