LATE MR J. B. CHETWIN.
The funeral of the late Mr J. B. Chetwin took place at Bromley Cemetery yesterday. The pa 11-board's wore members of the ( hristchurch Master Painters’ Association, Mr E. Bell, Mr K. Collins. Mr l>. Lee and Mr G. Sey. Mr Chet win was well known here, in his capacity of signwriter and decorator. He took a very live interest in technical education, and was for some tinto instructor in his particular branch of the business in the Christchurch Technical College, resigning that position to take up a similar one in the School of Art. He also held the position of secretary of the New Zealand Master Painters and Decorators’ Federation, which position ho had to relinquish on account of ill-health. He was the founder and organiser of the New Zealand Painters and Decorators’ Journal. ‘The New Zealand Decorator.” Beautiful floral tributes were received from the following:- Executive of New Zealand Master Painters’ and Decorators’ Association, Wellington ; president and members of Christchurch Master Painters* Association ; "Wellington Master Painters ; Christchurch Painters* Fnion : Smith and Smith, Ltd. : H.
