Glause X of the League’s convention. which met with strong objection in America is likely to be amended by the substitution of regional guarantee-* under which nations having mutual obligations to each other should be grouped. Clause X of the Covenant of the League of Nations states that the members of the League undertake tc respect and preserve as against extern al aggression the territorial integrity and existing political independence ol all members of* the League. Incas. of any such aggression or in case oi anv threat or danger of such aggres sion the Council shall advise upon tin means by which this obligation shaJi be fulfilled. SLAVERY IX AFRICA.
