CLASSIFICATION LIST.
CIVIL SERVANTS* PROTEST. A meeting of the committee of the ; Canterbury branch of the Public Ser- J rants’ Association was held last night, I Mr P. Jones presiding. After some general business had been j dealt with, a discussion ensued upon ( the belated appearance of Public Ser- ! rants’ classification list. It, was stated that the list should have been available last April, and it had been promised on two separate occasions in July and August. The ! executive in Wellington now advised ; that there was no hope of it being j available for a few weeks yet. The following resolution was passed : j ‘ ‘ That this meeting of Canterbury | l Publjc Servants strongly. protests j against the belated issue of the Public j Servants’ classification list, especially os w© have good reason to believe that the same has been ready for some time.” Tt was also decided to dispatch the following telegram to Canterbury mem hers of Parliament“ Great dissatisfaction is felt h°re through delay in the issue of Public Serrans’ classification lists, and we urge you to bring the matter up in til© House and to press for immediate distribution.”
