As a result of the extraordinary currency situation, cabs, vans, and bandfarts were pressed into service to-dav to carry immense packages of notes from the bank, to pay the August wages, employees frequently receiving bundles weighing three or four pounds. Some were able to got only a part ur ihoir wages, owing to the shortage of big notes. There was an increase in the note circulations during the past week of 234 milliards.
