ARBITRATION COURT PROCEEDINGS. (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, August 24. The shipping dispute was further heard in the Arbitration Court to-day. Mr .Tames Smith, superintendent engineer of the Union Company in his evidence objected t to stop-work meetings which necessitated getting extra men for essential work, and these were not always available. When at sea on Sun- ! days seamen, firemen. and greasers worked eight hours and they got no extra/ pay. They could not expect the i ship to stop on Sunday.
