NEUTRAL FRONTIER ZONE. By Telegraph—Prose Association—Copyright United Service. (Received August 18. 12.50 p.m.) CONSTANTINOPLE, August 17. Unforeseen circumstances prevented the signing of the protocol defining the neutral zone at Ohataldja. but the Greek and Allied commanders reached an agreement under which the Greeks will withdraw for six miles from the present demarcation line, and the bulk of the Greek troops will he withdrawn beyond the Rodosto-Midia line. The failure of the London Conference created anxiety in Turkish circles, which are fearing unfavourable consequences of a further postponement of the Near East settlement. FUTURE OF lONIA. By Telegraph—Preee Association—Copyright United Service (Received August 18. 12.50 p.m.) ATHENS, August 17. The Cabinet discussed a notification to the Entente representatives regarding the self-government of lonia. Tt is understood that the Powers made representations pointing out that the Greek Government’s action would not affect their eventual decision regarding the status of lonia.
