Sailed—Port Syduey, for New Zealand. OVERSEAS SHIPPING. (Received August 14, 12.30 p.m.) A rr i ved—Otira. Departure—From Vancouver. Waitemata. OVERSEA SHIPPING. The Eastern Sea, 5536 tons (Captain X. A Swenson), at present at Auckland, is discharging about 25,000 cases of oil and 200 tons of general cargo from New York. Her cargo totals about 7900 tons, which includes 90,000 cases of oil and about 10,000 barrels of lubricating oil, the balance of abo tit 2500 tons being general cargo. Clearing New York on June 30 the steamer experienced fine weather with westerly winds and trades to Panama. On August 5 the Eastern Sea passed the East Wind at 5 a.m. eighteen miles away. This is the Eastern Sea's first voyage to the Antipodes. She was engaged after the war trading between the. United States, the British Isles, Holland and Belgium, and was laid up in March at Baltimore. In May she was recommissioned to take to loading berth for New Zealand and Australian ports The Canadian Explorer left Montreal on July 29. and Sydney (Nova Scotia) on August 29, with cargo for Australian and New Zealand ports. The vessel is due at Brisbane or. September 21, and at Wellington on October 20. She will later proceed to Auckland to complete loading for New York, Boston and Montreal. The Tasmania, which left Wellington on June 29. is reported as having sailed from Las Palmas on August 9, en route to London. The Federal Line advises that the Otako arrived at Boston on August 4 from Pori Kembla. The following are projected sailings of Canadian Government steamers from Montreal for Australian and New Zealand ports:—Canadian Challenger. on August 30: Canadian Miller, on September 21: Canadian Mariner, on October 26. The Westmoreland is expected from the south on Wednesday. The Kaikoura did not sail for Dunedin a* expected on Saturday, not having completed discharging her cargo. She leaves to-day. The Port Albany is due on Wednesday from Wanganui, to load for the United Kingdom. The New Zealand Shipping Company has received cable advice to the effect that the steamer Erro sailed from Montreal or. June 25 for Louisberg (Cape Breton Island: and Norfolk (Virginia), to complete loading for New Zealand ports. The liner Orari, en route from Liverpool, left Panama on August 3 for Auckland, She is due at Auckland about August 27. and at Wellington about September 3. The FederaKLins advises that the Dorset sailed from Liverpool 011 August 4 for Auckland. Wellington. Lyttelton and Dunedin. She -is due at Auckland about September 21, and at Wellington about a week later.
