The Nov,- Zealand Farmers’ Tin ion resolved. by 28. votes to 4 " Thai this conference enter its emphatic protest against preference to unionists being oiven, a.s such preference is a distinct hindrance to progress in all occupations. and that the Government bo urged to legislate in that direction.’' The following remits were also adopted That, it not in the best interests of tho community that farming industries should be hampered and production hindered by Arbitration Court awards, and this conference asks that all primary farming industries be exempted by Parliament from such awards.” “That in-view of the important bearing on primary producers of awards by industrial tribunals covering certain industries, this conference urges that legislation be passed giving the producers the right to be heard in such, cases where their interests are of importance.” ‘‘ That in the opinion of this conference it- is not in the interests of the Dominionp that public servants be affiliated with the Alliance of Labour.”
