“That a sub-committee be set up to go into the question of preparing a set of standing orders for the benefit >f the Waimairi County Council/’ was a motion, of which notice had been given, proposed by Mr S, A. Staples at the meeting of the council yesterday afternoon. The matter had been introduced once before, said the mover, but the orders were never issued. and it struck him that the longer the council was without such orders the further into trouble it would got. Several councillors, in supporting the motion, deplored the present waste of time over trivial matters which should have been settled bv sub-committees. The motion was adopted.
