ARTISTS IN SAND.
One has heard of so many wonders hailing from the New World that, on being told of a series of really artistic pictures and statues mad© solely out of sand on the shore of th© Atlantic City (America), by artists -on their holidays, one is apt to doubt the truth of the statement. Representations of the four seasons of the year—winter, autumn, summer and spring—are splendidly made by these artists, and the bust of Lincoln ,■ surmounted t>y two American flags, is frequently wen doneAll along th© seashore a collection of these figures attract notice. The subjects dealt with are numerous, some being merely artistic, such as the pictures of the seasons of the year, and a beautiful effigy of sleep, others being caricatures, and an imaginary tombstone of one who—- “ Carved in sand to pay his bo-nrd— The pennies, alas ! became so lew, He had to bid this world adieu!”
