NOMADS V. ST ALBANS. Playing at English Park, Nomads kicked off against St Albans. Play opened rather slowly till Grogan got away down the line, finishing with a good cross shot which Dobbs just tipped out. Mahau cleared from Woods, and Herne received in the centre. He transferred to Allan, who shot behind. Nomads retaliated, and Shore passed to Friokelton, who shot, but his shot missed. St Albans returned, and two tricky shots in succession found Wilson in his usual good form. St Albans kept up the pressure, and Wilson made a partial clearance from a corner. Allan stepped into the breach and scored. St Albans 1, Nomads 0. Simpson repulsed a dangerous Nomads’ forward movement. The Blues, however, remained at the attack. and from a good cornor kick Mahan back-heeled into his own not.. St Albans l. Nomads 1. From a splendid piece of forward combination. Frickelton scored for Nomads from close in. Half-time score— Nomads 2, St Albans 1. On resuming Rangers played one hack. A bad miss by Shaw nearly let Lamont through. Sunnyside kept up pressure and Lindley, missing badly, left Thomas with a clear run in. Sunnyside 4, Rangers 0. Hands against Sunnyside gave Rangers a penalty. Norman took the kick and made no mistake. Sunnyside 4, Rangers 1. Korner then resumed for Rangers. but Sunnyside kept up the attack. LYTTELTON. Excelsior journeyed to Lyttelton to-day wjthva full team, and a very even game was played. Lyttelton kicked off, and after a period of ;rtvo and take play Shaw of Lyttelton, handled. Excelsior was awarded a penalty, and Mahoney registered with the kick. Smart midfield play saw Lyttelton attack, and from a scramble following a corner Hales equalised. VILLA. .Corinthians turned out three short. Up and down play resulted in Mattison scoring for Villa after ten minutes, Ransom© adding another goal almost immediately. Flood, in goal, brought off eome good saves. Bharr put in a good shot which found Flood out of' goal. Villa forwards spoilt several chances through getting offside. A good movement resulted in Perry scoring another goal. A free kick almost in Villa’s goal was not made any use of by Robertson. Half time score—Villa t, Corinthians 0. Corinthians started the second half with ten men. Graham and Flood played up to form and Keech, a third grade player, in goal for Corinthians, dealt successfully i with several shots. In the closing stages of the game it became difficult to follow the play owing to the fog. Time was called with the score:— VILLA . - . . FOUR CORINTFTJANB .... NIL. Mr H. W. was referee.
